The One Health Scientific and Research Institute
THE ONE HEALTH SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE is a private research institution that conducts scientific research in the fields of veterinary, medical and biological sciences, develops and tests veterinary drugs, conducts laboratory diagnostic studies, develops and implements programs for certified training of specialists in veterinary medicine, medicine and biology, and provides information support in these areas, guided by the One Health approach.
Our goal is to conduct scientific basic and applied research in the fields of veterinary, medical and biological sciences, develop and test the effectiveness of veterinary drugs, conduct laboratory diagnostic tests, develop and implement programs for certified training of specialists in veterinary medicine, medicine and biology, as well as provide information support for these areas in accordance with the One Health approach.
The areas of activity of THE ONE HEALTH SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE are:
- basic and applied research in the fields of veterinary, medical and biological sciences (theoretical: epizootic, epidemiological, statistical, phylogenetic, laboratory: morphological, biochemical, molecular genetics, serological, virological, pathological, microbiological and immunological);
- creation and implementation of scientific products and applied developments in the fields of veterinary, medical and biological sciences;
- research of new immunobiological, pharmacological agents, food, feed, feed and food additives, diagnostic and prophylactic agents, disinfection, implementation of new methods of monitoring, diagnosis, treatment and prevention (traditional and non-traditional) of infectious diseases of humans, animals and plants in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine;
- development and implementation of programs for certified training of specialists in veterinary medicine, medicine and biology;
- introduction and development of modern methods of monitoring, diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases of humans, animals and plants using classical, recombinant and nanobiotechnology methods;
- consulting assistance to specialists in the field of health care, veterinary medicine, plant quarantine and environmental protection;
- development and testing of veterinary drugs;
- cooperation with international, state, municipal and private stakeholders in the context of the implementation of the One Health approach in Ukraine;
- organization and holding of scientific and practical conferences, workshops, congresses, trainings, round tables in the context of the implementation of the One Health approach;
- Preparation and publication of information materials (journals, monographs, textbooks and guidelines);
- engaging leading scientific and pedagogical specialists of universities, academies, research institutes of Ukraine and foreign institutions to cooperate in the implementation of the One Health approach.
Two research units have been created within the structure of the One Health Scientific and Research Institute:
Laboratory for Implementation of the One Health Approach:
The goal is to ensure the implementation of the One Health Approach by:
- implementation of basic and applied scientific research in the areas related to the implementation of the One Health approach;
- development of initiative research topics and research programs;
- conducting laboratory research on the diagnosis of animal diseases, quality and safety of livestock products;
- advocacy and popularization of the principles of the One Health approach;
- presentations of the One Health approach in Ukraine and abroad;
- cooperation with state authorities, local governments, state organizations and institutions on the implementation of international, national and regional health, veterinary medicine, food, biological and environmental safety programs related to the implementation of the One Health approach.
Laboratory for Biosafety, Biosecurity and Standardization:
The goal is to harmonize, develop and implement methodological, guidelines and regulations in the areas of biosafety and biosecurity, as well as biological standardization, bioethics, bioinformatics and biostatistics
The ONE HEALTH SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE invites the scientific, educational communities and business representatives to cooperate in the development and implementation of scientific, educational, scientific and practical national and international projects in the field of intersectoral cooperation involving the segments of veterinary, humane medicine, biological and food security in accordance with the One Health approach.
